Well, It Happened

Well, it happened...it snowed in Dallas and I am not singing for the joy of it either. It’s not so much that I don’t like the snow. It has more to do with what the snow brings. Sure, sure the falling of the snowflakes is pretty and bright. Typically we don’t even get enough accumulation to have a good snowball fight much less build a snowman.

When it does snow though there are some things I would just as soon avoid like driving. Most local drivers are not prepared to handle the rules of the road required to drive safely under the inclement weather conditions. There is always that one driver who has to go the fastest. They literally fly around all the cautious drivers causing more than one palpitation for this particular driver.

One good thing about the snow is that it makes a good opportunity for such lovely photos. I have seen some great shots posted around the site on Activerain. As for me, I think I will spend the remainder of Sunday afternoon tucked safely in my home with the ones I love.

There’s no place like home! Snow falling in the neighborhood

Yes Teral, It happened and the highways will be one car crash after another.  The tow trucks will have more work than they can handle and next week the body shops will be over worked.

Teral, yes, we have it in Rockwall too.  WOW, it is beautiful!  Loving it today, buy hoping with all my heart it will be gone tomorrow.  Mondays are far to busy to deal with how people in Texas drive!

Stay home and make some soup!  Those fender benders when the roads get bad are plain costly and annoying, especially if you like your outfit.

Did you check the license plates on the "fast" cars?  Maybe they were from out of State?  LOL and thought they were already going slow.

Hi Teral, Enjoy your snow day!  It doesn't seem to matter where you are, there will always be someone who decides they can drive faster and you're right...they do seem to cause more palpitations than they should!

That's exactly what I have been doing today--and we don't have snow. I barely made it to church (soooo tempted to stay home). I will not leave the house again till church tonight. It's a  great day to stay HOME!

Teral -- I didn't think it snowed in Dallas at all!  Here in CT we have had our share lately. We have another blast coming up the coast Tuesday to Wednesday. I don't mind it, but I do mind having to drive among some SUV drivers who think they're invincible and drive way too fast for conditions.  Stay warm and safe.

That must be scary, driving around with folks who are so inexperienced. Hopefully, most stay home. I know that's what I try to do when it snows!
