Please take a Moment of Silence for Tucson Arizona Shooting Victims 11:00 ET Monday

Yesterday was the darkest day Arizonan's have faced in our history. Senseless violence took the lives of 6 people and critically injured 13 more. We have all gathered around today to pray for the recovery of Congresswoman Giffords and the families of all that have been effected by this tragedy.

Please take a moment of silence this Monday at 11:00 ET to honor the fallen victims and pray for the victims and their families.

I do not personally know any of the people and at the same time it is not hard to imagine how long lasting and devastating this horrific tragedy will most certainly be for all them. For quite some time I've been concerned that all the hate and rampant retoric would somehow show it's ugly head in our country and state.  I am so sorry that it did and I feel horrible for all the citizens of Tucson, Arizona and our Country. It is a sad, sad time for all of us.

We all can make a choice to be very mindful of our thoughts, words and deeds. We must as a country, change the course we're on and bring back civility, honor and pride.  God Bless America

I will participate in that moment of silence. Our son goes to UofA and shops at that Safeway. Very scary, we were fortunate he wasn't there yesterday and our prayers are with  those who were.

MIchael - we have family, friends and fellow agent friends there as well....and they were on our mind like your son was on yours. Glad to hear your son is safe and sound.

Anna, I too will participate in the moment of silence.  I don't know that I know anyone in Tucson, but as an American, I am sickened that someone may believe that senseless and cowardly acts of violence is a means to bring about change, this goes against everything that this great Nation stands for!

Tony & Darcy - I hope all of our Active Rain family supports the victims of this terrible, shocking event.  I know it doesn't bode well with any us, how could it?  It's just so crazy.

Anna - Thanks for keeping us focused on the tragedy ... and the events surrounding the people of Tucson.  Whatever senseless reason that caused this to happen - cannot be a justification for the action.

Anna, it was a very senseless act, and too many innocent victims lost their lives for no reason.  I hope time can help to heal the pain of their families.  Thanks for letting me know about the moment of silence on Monday.

Jack I think we need to hold all the families and people involved in this terrible tragedy in out thoughts and prayers.  Thank you.

Rita - so senseless with warning signs that went unheeded by the young man. It will take a lot of time and care to heal this terrible wound.  Hard to imagine.

Anna--the post you wrote yesterday was the first I heard of this tragedy.  Like many others it has shaken me to the core with the senselessness of it.  As the last line of your post said, 'we must bring back civility, honor and pride.'  Let me add respect.  We need to respect each other's right to their beliefs and opinions.

My prayers are with the victims & their families.  Thanks to those who helped at the scene of  this tragedy.

Anna:  This is so sad and tragic.  We have been following the news on CNN and keeping our fingers and toes crossed for each and every victim still needing medical attention.  Our prayers are going to the deceased.  This was a senseless waste of precious life.

I, for one, believe all the publicity this guy is getting is part of what he was wanting.  You could see based on interviews with people who dealt with him in the past that he had issues, but he was also seeking attention...The media should focus on those who were victims in this tragedy and not put a drop of energy into him.  He's eating this up...  I honestly cannot fathom how someone could shoot and kill a 9 year old little girl...I hope it eats at his conscience for the rest of his days.
