Steamboat lecture

   Thursday, Sept. 20 - The Bordentown Historical Society will present "Steamboating on the Delaware" at 7:30 p.m. at the Friends Meeting House, 302 Farnsworth Ave. Industrial and architectural historian Paul W. Schoop will present the lecture. He will discuss the 19th century steamboat commerce and transportation on the Delaware and its tributaries.

Charter tuna
fishing trip

   Thursday, Sept. 20, and Friday, Sept. 21 - A 30-hour fishing trip is planned for members of the Cookstown and Bordentown areas. The trip will take place from 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21. Be at the dock one hour prior to departure.
   The 85-foot long boat sails from Fishermen's Supply Co., 69 Channel Drive, Point Pleasant Beach. The trip costs $395 per person. The price includes rods, reels, all terminal tackle, bait and gratuity. All fish will also be cleaned and bagged. The fish will be divided evenly so that everyone goes home with some fish.

Pre-loved item sale

   Friday, Sept. 21, and Saturday, Sept. 22 - A sale of pre-loved household items and clothing will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 339 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown.

Café night

   Saturday, Sept. 22 - Holy Assumption Parish, 1290 Hornberger Ave., Roebling, is hosting a café night at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to join us for an evening of live religious chorus entertainment and light refreshments. Admission is free. A good will offering will be accepted. Reservations are required for seating.

Fashion show

   Saturday, Sept. 22 - The Black Experience Committee is preparing a fashion show in conjunction with the Bordentown 325th Anniversary Committee at 6:30 p.m. in the Bordentown Performing Arts Center at Bordentown Regional High School located at 318 Ward Ave, Bordentown.
   It will feature local residents modeling fashions from the 1700s to the present day. There will be a collection of clothing wear from the following eras: 1700's to 1800's, 1920's to 1930's, 1940's to 1950's, 1960's to 1970's, 1980's to 1990 and finally to Y2K.
   In between eras, there will be short interludes of music, skits or readings pertaining to that particular time period. Admission cost $4 for adults and $2 for children under 17 years.

Women's labyrinth

   Saturday, Sept. 22 - The Walk of Sisterhood event will include a women's labyrinth at 6:00 p.m. at Gilder Field behind the Carlslake Community Center on Crosswicks Street in Bordentown.

Fall Festival

   Saturday, Sept. 22 - Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Bordentown will hold its third annual Fall Festival from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a craft fair and flea market at the festival beginning at 8 a.m. Other activities will begin at 10 a.m., and will include a hayride, pony rides, petting zoo, air jumper, dunk tank, music, carnival games and a bake sale. The proceeds will benefit the church's ministries such as the Isaiah Project.

Beer and beef

   Saturday, Sept. 22 - Roselli Griegel will sponsor a beef and beer/gift auction event from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the Consolidated Firehouse to benefit the Bordentown Bulldogs football team. The cost is $25 per person.

Colonial service

   Sunday, Sept. 23 - The First Baptist Church of Bordentown will hold a 1700s colonial service at 10:15 a.m. It will feature a high pulpit, candlelight as the light source, no musical instruments and lined-out hymns. The pastor and ushers will be dressed in colonial garb and the offering will be taken with wooden offering boxes attached to long poles. Also, attendees will have to watch out for the usher with the tickler, which is a feather attached to a wooden pole used to awaken those who may be sleeping during the sermon.
   Church members can participate by wearing colonial clothing as well. People from Bordentown and visitors are invited to attend this special service. Light refreshments, reflecting the time period, will be served after worship.

Colonial
tea party

   Sunday, Sept. 23 - The Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085 Ladies Auxiliary will host a colonial tea party at 2 p.m. at the Elks Lodge. Stacey Roth will entertain with tales of the 18th-century woman and her tea party while a dulcimer player serenades. Tickets cost $12.

Finale Spirit Walk

   Friday, Sept. 28 - The last Spirit Walk will be held from 5 p.m. to midnight. Come downtown to enjoy a beer garden, meet the Anheuser Bush Clydesdales, the Philly Phanatic and listen to live music.
   Ticket holders get to take advantage of discounts and deals for the restaurants and retailers downtown. Tickets cost $20, and all ticket holders get a free t-shirt and a souvenir anniversary wooden nickel. Tickets can be purchased at Hob Tavern or Silk and Tweed.

Casino fundraiser trip

   Saturday, Sept. 29 - The Florence Township High School soccer boosters are sponsoring a trip to the Showboat Casino as a fundraiser. The bus will depart from the Florence Municipal Building at noon sharp and return at about 9 p.m. The cost is $33 per person and attendees will receive a $15 cash back and a $5 food comp. The boosters thank you for your support.

Festival

   Saturday, Sept. 29 - The 19th annual Crosswicks Village Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Street in Crosswicks. The festival will include craft vendors, an antique car display, children's games, book and bake sales, a Lego building contest, a chili tasting contest, a vintage 1873 baseball game, a Civil War encampment and old country dancing.
   There will also be house tours for $10 and a spaghetti dinner at the firehouse from 3 to 7 p.m. for $8.

Anniversary parade

   Sunday, Sept. 30 - The Bordentown 325th Anniversary Parade will begin at 2 p.m. Guests include Miss New Jersey, Sally Starr, Stephenie LaGrossa from Survivor, Boomer from Trenton Thunder and more. There are over 10 bands scheduled to play including the Duffy String Band, Old Barricks Fife and Drum and the Princeton University Scramble Band. Many organizations and businesses in the area have already signed their float up, but there is room for more.

   Thursday, Oct. 6 - A beef and beer event will be held at 7 p.m. at the Bordentown Hope Hose Fire House on Burlington Street. The event will include a DJ and silent auction. The cost is $25 per person. All proceeds will benefit the Bordentown Regional High School football team.
