Visitors to Fishers Conner Prairie Jan. 17 have the opportunity to win tickets to 1859 Balloon Voyage Think nothing’s for free? Think again! On Jan. 17, Fishers Conner Prairie Interactive History Park is offering FREE admission during its annual community day.

Intended to honor the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Conner Prairie community day will offer tours of the Conner Homestead, as well as a special preview of 1863 Civil War Journey: Raid on Indiana, an exhibit set to open Conner Prairie visitors learn about life as an Indiana pioneer! June 4, 2011. Visitors can also learn the history of the 28^th United States Colored Troops, participate in an outdoor scavenger hunt with the opportunity to win tickets for the 1859 Balloon Voyage, and unravel the mystery of genetics in the Science Lab.

A trip to Conner Prairie is a great way to beat the January blahs and get some fun and informative lessons about the lives of Indiana pioneers. And on Jan. 17 you certainly can’t beat the price!

Did you know…. that Conner Prairie is Indiana’s only Smithsonian Affiliate and a 2010 Institute of Museum and Library Services National Medal Award recipient?

Joan--Really, it does not get much better than free and Conner Prairie is such an unsual museum. Fun and educational!
