Slip Sliding Away...

This morning middle Tennesseans were given both a treat and a treatment. We woke up this morning to approximately 4 inches of snow which was really a site to behold for this area. Generally, we don't get as much snow as we have experienced but this year  looks to be the exception rather than the  rule. What the heck it looks as if the kids are going to get another snow day.

Speaking of snow days, I'm taking advantage of this downtime to install Dragon Speaking on my Mac and I'm using it to dictate/type this post. Overall, I'll have to say I'm very impressed with the way that the software performs with very little training.

I have tried earlier versions of speech recognition software and they seemed to provide more of a laugh than anything else. Now if I can only find out how to make this software interface with ActiveRin blogs so that I can use it to comment on other people's posts.

Hubby uses that, it was pretty funny to watch it learn his very heavy accent, LOL.

Mike,

I believe that Rich Irarossi(?) has used it to do comments on others blogs.  I need to go out and pick this up for me.  It sounds simple to use.

Michael, that storm is taking a path up to us, and the 4" that you got is supposed to be as much as 18" in some parts of our state. I may not see the street until May.

Randy, the speech recognition software is pretty interesting. it works much better than I thought that it would.  The main trick is to keep your thoughts coherent while you are talking...

Hi Michael:

4 inches there means down time...

4 inches here in NJ means, business as usual...

Looks beautiful, Michael.  Snow has a magic that is unmatched.  I am so hoping some of your storm will come to Massachusetts.

Michael, we were in Gatlinburg one march break a few years ago when there was some snow.  We noticed huge differences in the way you "southerners" handle snow... I guess that is to be expected.
