Today, was a good day because I caught my prey.

I love watching Hawks and other birds of prey.  They look so magnificent as they perch on light poles off the highway.  I just so happen to get close enough to this hawk right after a catch.  It shocked me because - I had just pulled into the parking lot, got out of the car and was walking toward my office building when lo and behold a huge hawk flies toward me with its prey in its talons

I said to myself -- grab the camera ( I don't know how to work my camera phone) and take a picture.

I approached slowly -- someone getting into their car caught my attention so I knew I had little time to squeeze off a few shots before Hawk too off.

Aziz,

We have a place in PA called 'Hawk Mountain' where migrating hawks and other gliding birds can be seen regularly. In fact, there are some vantage points from which you can observe the hawks from above. A truly awesome sight. http://www.hawkmountain.org/ Thanks,   Fran

Fran -- I'll have to add Hawk Mountain to my list of "must visit" places.  I'll have to see how far away it is from the Baltimore area.  Thank you for the website.

Aziz,

Great pictures.  I love watching hawks too.  We had a red tail hawk that used to camp out near my office and I would watch it everyday.  Very cool.

Aziz! Perhaps the hawk is your animal totem? To have him land in front of you with his prey! This is why I always have my camera handy too. One never knows!

Heck I helped rescue a baby racoon this am, I have my camera and photos but no cord with me to put the pictures online! :)

Lysa -- it was recorded only you couldn't see the recorder.

Keep up the good work!

There have been times when I've seen a turtle crossing a road and helped out a bit.

Good Pics!

Last Christmas I was at Disney Land and me and my son was at the pool.  I was minding my own business and a hawk came flying by me at head level.  Darn near flew into the back of my head!  The hawk then grabbed another bird from the sky, they both fell to the ground about 4 feet from my son.  I was still trying to recover from an almost heart attack and my son was running toward the birds.  The hawk then grabbed the smaller bird and off it went.  I hope nobody caught it on tape, Im sure my actions would be a candidate on a Funniest Home Videos!

Chad -- now that would have been a great to catch on video.  Hey, the market is rallying, what do you think Bernanke will do?

HArd to tell.  Flip a coin, he is no Alan Greenspan.  I personally think he will do what the President wants him to do rather it makes sense or not (just my opinion though).
