Snowing in Hendersonville NC

It Was Promised and Showed Up On Schedule.  This was taken earlier in the day and we ended up with about 8 inches in the Hendersonville NC area.  No golfing today or for awhile!  Some of the higher elevations of Western NC where it has been snowing for several days have over 2 feet of snow!  What we have here is more than enough for me.

It has been precipitating all day in some form or another.  Currently it is a slight drizzel of freezing rain and the temperature is 20 degrees.  Things will be a problem in the AM for folks who must get out on the roads with the black ice.  Many will be staying at home as the secondary roads haven't been touched and transportation will be/should be by foot for the time being.  Schools will be closed again on Tuesday so the kids will get to enjoy it and pay for it in the summer when they are making up the days.

The good news is that unlike the heavy wet snow of Christmas this is dry/light snow and the wind isn't blowing.  It is beautiful and it has been fun playing with my Nikon D3000 in getting some pictures plus I also took some video with my Kodak video Zi8.  Now if I only could figure out the editing software!  That's next.

Winter Wonderland - Hendersonville NCThe Snow is Piling Up

Snow In The TreesBurrrrrrr - It's Cold and The Clock Is Broken

This is our third snow here in Hendersonville already this season.  It snowed twice in December and now -- and winter has hardly gotten started.  I read or heard on the TV that it is being blamed on El Nino/El Nina which occurs every five years.  Beats me, but I'm looking forward to a warm spring.

Snow is nice for a couple of photo opps ... but then I get really eager to shoot all of the new growth of spring (plus it's much easier to operate the camera without frozen fingers!)

UGH!!!  Please keep it there!!!  I don't miss that WHITE stuff.  Oh, and SNOW is a four letter word, after all, LOL.  In my mind, falls in line with a few other four letter words.
