Not really a blog Post- Just a question for blogging

I'm not sure where the proper forum is for asking these questions so I figured go to the source. All you bloggers out there.

How does one upload a picture that you have on your computer to  a blog post on Active Rain. When I hover over insert/edict image, a window opens that asks for the URL of the image. But I don't think the pictures that I have on file have a URL . Or at least I can't figure out how to find it.

Second question- is when I want to upload photos to my blog post from the internet. Again I have the same problem. I tried copy and paste from pictures I wanted pt insert but they didn't come up the way I wanted to or in th eright spot.

Smae thing when I tried to insert a whole article or part of an article onto my blog from the internet. It came out as a different format.

I really appreicate any help that is offered. I'm getting better at this slowly but surely but a few tips would really help. Thanks a million!

Click the little box with the tree in the tool bar (insert/edit images).  Also write your post first then place the cursor where you want your picture to go.  Click the box with tree and it will show you what to do from there.  After uploading your picture click on appearance and adjust the size of your picture and then the drop down box will help with placement.

You can hold the control key at the same time you are clicking on the add image? I always click the button on the right side of the image URL box.... it lets you browse your desktop for your image.

When you click on the tree icon then it asks for the URL, rather than put in a URL just click the browse button to the right of that and it will pull up choices from your own computer files so you can select the picture you want.  Is that what you were asking about?

I can't help you with the article that you're wanting to upload but I'll be interested to see what kind of answers you get.

Great question Celia,  Have you ever inserted a picture into Microsoft word or any other word processor?  It's pretty much the same way.  A box pops up and you have to click on the file folder then point to the location of the picture on  your hard drive.  Only you will know where they're stored, but they are usually in your pictures folder.

Photos off the internet are copyrighted so careful about that.   Right click on the photo then "save as", then tell it where to save the photo.  Usually in the "My Pictures" directory somewhere.

If that fails, ask your kids, or your neighbours kids,  they'll be delighted to help you out.

Guess how I really figured out some new aspects of using this web site?! But of course- I asked my daughter who is in college. It took her about 10 seconds to figure out all my qiestions even tho she' s never seen this site before.
