With the information highway increasing daily with users, is the newspaper slowly being phased out?  I know the price to advertise can get pretty pricey and the internet can house more pictures and with better clarity for less money.  Should the real estate community push for the internet, or is less, more, for getting people to call in on an ad?

Mark, I don't use the newspaper at all except for open houses (which I rarely do) because there are so many better ways to spend my advertising dollars.  When I explain to sellers the amount of exposure they get online, none of them even question the decision to not use print ads.

No newspaper for us! We do some other print advertising, but the newspaper is too expensive in our area. The majority of advertising is on-line.

Mark-

No newsprint for over 6 years.  No paper-type ads for 4 years. I have never looked back.  In fact the use of FREE criagslist is a prime example. It has taken over my marketing in many areas....selling personal property, acquiring products, posting jobs, listing rentals and placing ads for homes....that I can not even imagine who is paying for the paper???  I guess people with cash to burn? Sellers can receive and or visit all the e media produced...and most of it is very trackable. Lots and Lots of color Pictures and video are everything to consumers...of which neither can be done on a flat 1D surface without spending lots of cash.  Newsprint is very aware of this and they are  working to get in the game.

Not everyoneis Internet savvy.  I put an ad in the paper at least once a month.  If I stop getting responses, I'll stop advertising there - but so far I average 7-10 calls on my newspaper ads.

Internet, no question. I was asked by an agent to split an add in the local paper the other day.  Uh, the same paper that will have "the read estate market stinks" on the cover? No thanks.
