Did you hear that 49 of the 50 states have snow this January; in varying depths of course; in different 'heaviness'.

That little tidbit was acknowledged this a.m. on Fox News; "49 states" , that is really something.

Macomb County is recorded as receiving the highest amount of this last snow;
...it is very light;
...it is easy to remove;
...it is hard on Blue-tones eyes;

The winds
have made the snow on the ground turn into some interesting 'snowscapes';

Here are some photos to let you enjoy what Nature can achieve--without all the scenes seen on the Tube--of the frightening side of snow, ice & unexpected visits from the North Wind, Jack Frost & the Snow giant.

I didn't hear that. I am guessing Hawaii is the one with no snow.  But we have it here in Texas too - if I had some boots like yours it would be much easier to deal with it though. Have a great day!

Love the boots!

All that wind does make for interesting patterns. I'm glad the snow wasn't too bad... out east, they are getting hammered (again).

Up until yesterday, my sister in North Carolina had more snow in her yard than I had in mine!

The Sierra's out our way have the most snow in 30 YEARS. A week or so ago it was 17'.  THAT'S snow!

Best,

Steve

Diane...also heard that just  1/2 hr ago, that Hawaii does have mountain snow--but NOT which of the states doesn't have any.  the Boots--yeah they are fun and generally keep the snow away from the socks & feet.
Thanks for our comment. Have a great rest of the week.

Jason...I like the orange color & if you remember to fold the pants & pull the socks up over them-the boots work well.  Though Macomb Co. received the most [according to the Macomb Daily] it was easy to deal with.  Did you see some of those scenes from other states East of us--not so good.
Since we do need the amounts of moisture for the Great Lakes, I am pulling for Rain in the Spring--until the Spring.
Thanks for your comment Have a great rest of the week.

Steve...yes it is a lot of snow;  does the snow-melt help with dryness out there or is it too high up for general help?  Often wondered if the springs, river-lets, Rivers do gain from the 'high-up melt'.
Thanks for your comment. Have a great rest of the week.

I like your boots better than mine...we don't have orange boots in NJ!

Laura...Awe-heck,here I thought the boots made us kindred souls; mine have Black laces -yours have Black laces; thus we match. Actually, these came from Wal-mart and were in 3 colors other than Orange.
Still think that -other in age- we are kindred souls [ I / we are old older than you ]

Looks like our snow has stopped until this weekend; hope that you can say the same in your area.
Thanks for your comment. Have a great Friday & weekend.

Barb, great photos very graphic and well cropped, and those are terms I've learned and used as a graphic designer myself.

Thanks for the snow scenes. Glad we do not yet have that much snow in Maryland. We do have an icy morning after 2-3" of snow yesterday.

 The colors of winter in Maryland. Life is good!

Ellen...well, thank you. I do use www.picnik.com for the majority of edits; had photo shop on other XP computer, but it would not transfer [?] to Windows 7. I personally was trained in Art before all the inclusion of Graphics and Photography. Present day art students have so much more opportunities than any class I taught. [one reason why I would & could not teach anymore--students deserve a full-service teacher.]
Thanks for your comment.  Have a good rest of the week.

Roy...I love that your comments across AR always include a "floral" addition to your words.  Is this one a 'grass' or 'Fall-effect flower'..whichever it is, the Greens, Golds, the curves & the background shapes all make it one great photo; actually, I could envision this enlarged & mounted on a frame.  You should open a line of such items.
Can you not see this 30" X 50" hanging on a wall.  Thanks for your comment. Glad that your ares was spared the gib snow. Have a good rest if the week.

I'm thinking Florida doesn't have snow?  Ours is up in the Mountains - lovely to look at - even easier to live with!

Cara....Jacksonville gets it at times; but, you know that statement was written & stated, but NO one ever named that 50th state.  Probably could Bing, Ask.com or Google for the answer, but how to ask the pertinent question.
Thanks for your comment, I may have to follow through now--as I thought Hawaii, but the mountain areas there had snow.
Have a great rest of the week.

Cara.  you are correct; see the comment by me below.

The Winner of the 50th state name is ...".Cara Marcella"
did Google it and on the Long Island Press.com site in a short article, Florida is the state that had no snow on the ground.  Good for you, Cara.

Dan...THAT is the $64,000 question, isn't it.  Here, we keep saying that it is for the levels in the Great Lakes, but since these Lakes are also by other states & countries. let them supply the moisture needed. LOL
Here in Macomb Co. MI--we are getting snow--1-2 " at a time; with 'down-times in between'; then more 1-2" increments.  Sounds good right, but at the end there is still measurable snow.
Other states get theirs all at once --OK. for three different snowfalls in three weeks. Bad news. there.
Thanks for your comment. Have a good Friday & a great weekend.

No Snow here in Florida!  Beautiful sunny blue skies, a little cooler than usual, but definitely lots of sunshine.

Joyce....sorry I'm so late on this; thanks for your comment. Could take the cooler than usual climate right about now--but it doesn't look good for Michigan at this point in time. LOL   Really, we are looking forward to a move to FL, but selling our Home comes first.  Things seem to be moving forward here, so who knows.  Have a good rest fo the week.
