199,245... and inching toward 200,000 Members strong!

I think we'll get to 200K in a couple of weeks.  It's still a relatively slow period.  Most agents are just ramping up their business activities.  One of our agents is doing a blogging class today so hopefully there will be a few more sign-ups from that.

I sent out some more AR invites today; it won't take long to hit the 200,000 mark!

I've invited several new members this week and told them each time you might be #200,000 and win an AR long sleeve T-shirts !!!!*L*

I've been thinking about that 200,000 mark, too. Thinking we should turn it over to Michael Thornton to predict when that milestone will be reached.

Kathy, I have been following for e few months, I actually tried to start a contest to guess the exact date and time of the 200,000 member joining but  got little response, I believe I selected January 15th at 10AM MST, so I obviously missed it by a litte bit

Hi Kathy -- I don't monitor this that much, even though it's right in front of my eyeballs everyday! :)  That said, what I would really like to see is a more comprehensive analysis of information about the platform to really give a good sense of many different things.  Most of the data is probably already there. There is a subfield in information technology called data mining and it's amazing what one can learn by mining the right data.  For example: it would be easy enough to track with member participation on which types of posts get the most hits, greatest conversion of clients, or even closed sales, among other things.  How many of these almost 200K blog how often? (Is it a bell curve or really lopsided or ?), etc. Tracking this kind of internal data and correlating it to google seo, etc. would be interesting.  The questions posed are limitless and could greatly increase the value of the platform and it's not that hard to do.  I know, I used to write software for a living.

I smell a contest coming on. We need a name the date and time of the 200,000 member?

I just recently started inviting people to join the community. So far it is going kinda slow. I am sitting around a 2% conversion rate ha ha. Once people get a better idea of what this is about they will hopefully stop resisting.

Just wondering how many rainmakers are really activee. I seem to see pretty much the same posters from week to week. Perhaps many who are out there are more comfortable reading than writing? Of course now that membership is paid for it would give better numbers for comparing sign-ups and drop outs.

Kathy, excellent post! I glance up at the count once in a while and I wonder if the 200,000th member will win a trip to Idaho or something...

Kathy - I do look at the number of members each time I log on to AR.  When I started here, there were only 14,000 others!  Hard to imagine, huh?

I also mention ActiveRain to a lot of people... I wonder if I can claim responsibility for maybe 3 or 4 of those 200,000 members... :O)

PS: I mention it because I believe it is a great community!
