So... It seems that Americans who are currently working are less afraid to spend their hard earned cash! This is great news to everyone. Especially those who derive their living from sales. Hopefully this means they will begin buying homes again.
Recent news reports say that Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke thinks that a "self-sustaining" recovery is taking hold because consumers and businesses are spending more. Morgan Stanley economists are saying that 4 percent growth is likely in 2011. And this may be a conservative estimate.
In a very selfish way, I don't care about the rest of the economy. I just want folks to get serious about buying a home again. Business has been good here in South Florida but it should be a lot better. Home prices have been so low that is is almost crazy for those who can purchase, not to.
Take this duplex I have for sale. It is in a good neighborhood in downtown Lake Worth and close to lots of activities, restaurants and nightlife. It was on the market for around nine months. We now have a solid contract. The place is in terrific shape but we still had to lower the asking price by more than $30,000 before we got this offer.
Anyway you say it...This is the best time in recent memory to buy a home. Get off the fence and take that first step. You will be happy you did!!!
