Lockboxes

When I transferred my membership from Santa Clara County Association of Realtors (SCCAOR) to Bay East Association of Realtors, I had to make sure all my lockboxes were also transferred over. To do this (and I did this yesterday), I had to visit three Realtor board offices.

1.      SCCAOR, in San Jose, CA.  I returned my supra key and had them de-program my lockboxes.

2.      MetroList, in Pleasanton, CA. I had not renewed my membership with MetroList, and so I was obligated to return their Supra key. I also had one lockbox that I asked them to de-program.

3.      Bay East Association of Realtors, in Pleasanton, CA. This was now going to be my new home, so I picked up my new Supra key. Then I had all my lockboxes, that were de-programmed from SCCAOR & MetroList, lined up on the counter and had them programmed for Bay East.

Phew, that was quite a drive! But what really struck me was the number of lockboxes I have accumulated over the years. Sure, some are the old style lockboxes, but they still serve their purpose. Now, I just need to work harder in order to put them lockboxes into use! All of them!

Jane, that does sound like a bit of work. My not being familial with the situation I am curious if all these associations are in the same geographical area?

Bob, there is no overlap in coverage, but some associations do have satellite offices outside their areas for those Realtors who want to sign up with them. For example, MetroList has an office in Pleasanton, CA, which is part of BayEast Association, but their coverage area is actually the Sacramento area.
