The New FSBO - For Cleveland and Other Snowy Cities!

FindSue Gabriel - Shoveling our lovely Cleveland area snow

Shovelers

Before

October

Unfortunately, I don't have a snowblower. I don't really mind, because I can use the exercise! So today I spent 90+ minutes shoveling 6" deep snow from my driveway.

I live on a very busy street, and hundreds of cars and trucks zip by my house all day long. There must have been at least half a dozen pick-up trucks with snowplows attached  pass me as I worked my butt off cleaned my drive. One passenger even made eye contact with me, at 35mph.

And did anyone stop and offer me their services? Nope. But what a great idea it would be if even one of those guys had taken down my address - and the addresses of all the other hardy souls in Northeast Ohio out there shoveling today - and maybe send a coupon for a % off our first plowing. And they should definitely contact us next Fall, before the Lake Erie snow machine turns back on.

As I said, I don't mind the physical activity, but there are days when I need to get out NOW, and don't have 90 minutes to shovel. Not to mention the time to bundle up, un-bundle, and make myself presentable again. So I just might hire someone to help me, if I knew who to call.

Any snowplowers out there??

What a lost opportunity to build a business right there in your neighborhood!  I hope someone figures it out and takes you up on your great idea.

It's great exercise, but wow, is it time consuming!  Even when I get ready to walk the dog, it's 15 minutes to put on all the layers and the boots!  LOL

Sue, I am getting very cold listening and reading about the snow stories going around... I hope you guys get a break for a while, this is just starting the winter, we are not even half way through yet... No wonder it seems we have more visitors in town.

Susan ~ Seriously! If I had a snowplow, I'd be out looking for people like me. Unless they have too much business already. What a nice problem to have!

Ellie ~ It's supposed to snow again today, but just flurries. I think. I hope! And my Dad's in Orlando all winter...one of your snowbirds.  :)

Guess none of these snowplowers had much entrepreneurial spirit! Sometimes business really IS right in front of your face - there for the taking - it's just a matter of having your antenna up at all times (which you're great at, btw).

I'm freezing my backside off here in Florida, but no snow... so I guess I should shut up, huh!?

No Jennifer, they didn't have their antenna up yesterday. And thank you...I do try.  : )  I'm glad it won't be snowing on your wedding day, but I'll be toasting you with a hot toddy!
