I hope you all have seen the interviews of other bloggers I've been doing on my blog. I've been learning a great deal myself. Now I would like to ask some more general questions to be aswered by the AR community as a whole. My first question is, "when do you blog?"

I'm posting this a 8:00 AM, but I'm usually for more likely to be posting in the wee hours of the night than in the middle of the day. I catch up on my email at that time as well. It used to shock me when another blogger responded right back, despite it being two or three in the morning. But it's become so common that I half expect it now.

So, when do you blog? In the middle of the night? Bright and early? Do you actually set aside a specific time? Your comments are much appreciated!

I blog whenever I get the chance.  Sometimes it is late at night, other times early morning, no rhyme or reason to the time.

Thank you Sharon very much for your help, from Southwest Florida Notaries

Usually for me its later in the day.  Typically after the kids go to bed, after 10pm.  Depends on the day.

Hi Todd!

I timeblock. I blog (or work on a blog post) from 3-5pm during the week, or if/when I have extra time during other parts of the day. I read other blog posts later at night when the kids are in bed. On the weekends I usually blog when I have time - an hour here and an hour there.

Welcome to the Dark Si, er uh, Active Rain. ;)

Job, kids, traveling husband: My posts are typically pieced together- 15 minutes here, 20 minutes there. I'm a very slow writer so it takes me awhile to get a really decent post together.

It happens mostly first thing in the morning, then last thing at night. Daylight is spent doing 'real' work.

However, anytime of the day, as the inspiration strikes, I will go in and quickly throw an idea or a url into a blank post, just to get the thought in there and off my brain. I work on WordPress, which is perfect for that application. You can accomplish a lot in 5 minutes of brainstorming. And I use my home blog for AR posts as well- just copy and paste the end product.

Hi Todd,

My blogging lately has been sporadic.  It is almost never during the business day though.  Usually I write something very early in the morning or later in the night after my daughter is asleep.

Welcome to ActiveRain.

Welcome to ActiveRain.  I blog whenever I can fit it in.

Welcome to the Rain Todd!

I don't have a set time to blog. I'm almost always by the PC, so I read blogs throughout the day and night. I write to the blog whenever I'm inspired to do so. I am decidedly NOT a morning person, so the bulk of the posting tends to go up in the late evenings.

Hey Todd- Did you just join AR?   If so, welcome. I blog when the time is free.  Most often it is in the morning or at night, but today I have some free time so I am working on a draft in the middle of the day.  It just depends.

I prefer the night shift. Less distraction.  But I get ideas all the time which I jot down.

09/17/2007 01:15 PM by Joseph Ferrara.sellsius

I'm a late nighter, less distractions.  I will throw up a rough draft if an idea blooms during the day - or just the title to it and get back to it when I can.

Steve, yes. Today is my first day on Active Rain. Great comments so far!

I also like the night time, but honestly, it's whenever I get the chance.  Welcome to AR

I prefer to blog at night, but I suppose that makes me an insomniac..

After I've written a post and looked it over and have "tweaked" it a bit, I try to upload it to AR in the afternoon or early evening.

Sort of a follow up question. When is the best time to publish a post here on AR? Or does it matter?

09/17/2007 03:09 PM by Todd Carpenter (mariah.com)

All day long, Todd ... sometimes I'll get smart and write a late-afternoon post and post it through WordPress the next day. Other times there are a series of posts as the mood strikes.

The morning's when I do the bulk of the writing but there's no set time. The only thing I know for sure is to have a Sunday morning post ready lest the numbers on BlogTopSites go to hell.

09/17/2007 04:23 PM by Jonathan Dalton (RE/MAX Desert Showcase)

I don't blog.  I write about half of my blog posts for the week on Sunday afternoons.  I used to do open houses, now I write.  The rest get written very early in the morning, probably before some folks on your coast have gone to be for the night.  They are all set to post between midnight and 1:00 am, on whatever day I decide to have them post on.

Honestly what is a nice guy like you doing in a place like this?

It's a blogsperiment!

Sunday night usually late. I use wordpress and change the posting date for each post for the future, this way I don't have to blog every day or every other day.  I just blog once a week and it looks like I blog often.

I try to blog once  day, either first thing in the morning or late at night, welcome to the site!

I blog when I have something halfway interesting to say... which seems to be less often than a pro blogger would.  But I do have about 5-10 IDEAS for great posts per day... I just want it to be worthwhile for someone to actually read.

Welcome to Active Rain Todd!

I do most of my blogging on the weekend since I no longer make real estate appointments then.   Occasionally I will blog in the evenings but almost never during the work day.

09/22/2007 12:07 PM by Linda Davis (RE/MAX Realty Group)

Typically early morning and late at night.  Not usually during the day- today is unusual!
