Great post, Rhonda. You make absolutely great sense here. It is, after all, a very small investment with a very large return. It's funny how we don't hesitate to spend money on smaller things but shrink from having to reach into our pocket for others.
Well put Rhonda. There is a home near me that has been on the market for over a year. It is partially empty, vacant and needless to say unstaged. They are now trying to rent the property after 3 agents and price reductions.
Just think of the time and money that has been wasted on trying to sell this house as is!
So true, Rhonda. Staging is often the "after-thought" when price reduction and changing agents hasn't worked. A well-staged, well-priced home would have sold long before those other actions became necessary. Given that homes are the biggest investment for most people, I remain surprised that when it comes to selling them they think about doing the absolute least amount but want the highest dollar.
Heather, this is exactly the point here. Staging does require a very small investment and provides a huge ROI along with other benefits that continue to keep on giving. Thank you for stopping by!
Janice, great example of the point I am trying to make here. The house you are talking about has now lost an incredible amount of money, probably in the tens of thousands. They have had their "horse before their cart" the whole time.
Janet, yes, Staging is often an after-thought for sellers. It is often difficult to even convince sellers to give a property a fresh coat of paint. And, like you say, these are often the sellers who want to over-price their properties. They are also the ones who are confused as to why it takes so long to sell their home.
Hi Rhonda
I never thought of it this way. Funny i was in the car business for over 25 years and you are absolutely correct about "staging" the vehicles..Thanks
Hello, Tim!
Yes, it is a great comparison. I only came upon it whilst selling my last couple of used vehicles privately.
Staging, essentially, IS the same as MERCHANDISING and gearing the presentation of a product towards the inspiration of your target market(s).
Thank you so much for stopping by!
