JoinActiveRain.com: You should Join ActiveRain

Our amazing Carnac inspired me last month. Carnac always seems to know what is going to happen around here. For months I had been meaning to buy yet another domain. But life and business got in the way and I put it off until the Carnac post that spurred a rash of domain purchases.

My latest domain is JoinActiveRain.com. If you are a real estate professional, and you haven't already taken advantage of one of the internet's largest and liveliest gathering of real estate professionals, you should. I promise you will learn a thing or two. Best of all, it is free. If you don't have a strong internet presence, you can create one here and share ideas with Realtors from across the continent.

How do you get points for the site, joinactiverain.com? I thought you had to invite people directly from your profile.

I do not get points for that domain. I just get points if someone goes there and signs up.

Bonnie and Sharon. Well, it has been about 11 hours since I posted this and officially launched joinactiverain.com. So far, nobody has joined. I think i need a more compelling post about joining.

Cheryl, I will wait for you to post your game plan for promoting your new site. Actually I dont have one. This post and linking to it were all I have thought about so far. I did think about building a landing page, but it seems like too much work.

When I get an email from this post and click on the join Active Rain, it goes to my main page with an advertisement saying "join Active rain...How did you do this?

CJ, I like the idea, but my guess is they won't buy it. Maybe we can auction them off on Ebay?

Karen, I don't see what you see. No ad for me. It goes to the main page of ar for me. Does that happen if you are logged out when you click?

It happens whether I am logged in or out. Tried it both ways. At the top of the page (what I see is the Rhode Island main page) of AR) it says you are invited to Active Rain by "you" and you will get points if we join. Pretty neat actually.

Ahhh, now I understand what you mean. That is on everyone's invite page. Yours too. Of course, yours says your name on it not mine :->

Karen those who have a button on their blog here or elsewhere that says "join ActiveRain" or have a link in a blog post on another blog (the way I have snagged a number of members) , what you see is what will show up when you click on the link... same thing as MF's domain. It's all linked to the invite url, says whose invite link you are accepting.
