10 Real Estate Topics for a Squidoo Lens - Part 5
an interesting post from Paul about Squidoo Lens. We never get a chance to go over more than 2000 posts each day. Re-blogging helps at such time. (Even I had missed this post, by the way...)
Here is a re-blog. (Please post the comments on the original post.)
10 Real Estate Topics for a Squidoo Lens - Part 5
If you missed the previous parts of this 10-part series, you may want to begin with Part 1 if you are unfamiliar with Squidoo. Each post in this series features a different idea for a real estate-oriented topic to present through a Squidoo lens. This post is the fifth in the series and Becoming a Landlord is the featured topic.
If you are a landlord or were at one time, you have knowledge and experience associated with a profession that could be helpful to aspiring landlords. You could share your knowledge of this profession by creating a Squidoo lens and get paid for doing so! Some extra income would be nice, wouldn't it?!!
So on to the question...how would you get paid for sharing your landlording knowledge and experience through a Squidoo lens? Great question! First of all, Squidoo is FREE to use! Like many other commercial websites, Squidoo generates revenue by serving advertisements in various forms. When you build a lens, your page displays advertisements in the form of google ads and display ads from major sponsors. Each time your page is viewed and/or visitors click on these ads, you earn a portion of the revenue. A single visit doesn't amount to much income, but a page that attracts a lot of traffic has great potential for earning you some extra income you wouldn't have otherwise! And the more pages (lenses) you create, the more earning potential you have!
The advertising revenue at Squidoo is only part of the picture when it comes to earning income! The basic building blocks of Squidoo are "modules". These building blocks are based on specific types of content eg. Amazon product links, eBay listings, YouTube videos, newsfeeds and a broad host of others. Those modules that feature products for sale are an additional source of income for you. When visitors click the product links on your page and make a purchase, you receive a commission from the sale!
If there are books, dvds, or other products you would recommend to the budding landlord, why not build an educational Squidoo lens with pointers about the profession and provide an Amazon and/or eBay module with helpful products you recommend? It is FREE to join Squidoo and doing so may even earn you some extra income!
