 Capgemini to Create 550 New
Jobs in Charlotte

North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue announced today in a press conference at the Charlotte Chamber that Capgemini, one of the world's leading providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, will create 550 new jobs in Charlotte over the next three years and plans to invest $4.2 million in its new Charlotte office.

"The opening of Capgemini's new facility in Charlotte is a major milestone in efforts to expand our presence in the U.S. and it aligns with our strategy to open delivery centers that best serve our client needs," said Roy Stansbury, managing director, Capgemini, Financial Services North America. "Combining our key financial services clients with Charlotte's qualified talent pool, central location, international airport and excellent quality of life, made the city a clear choice for Capgemini's new delivery center."

Capgemini's Charlotte facility will be dedicated to serving its clients in the banking, insurance and capital markets sectors. The new center will be an integral part of the company's global Rightshore® delivery network, which enables people around the world to work together as one team to create and deliver solutions for clients.

Capgemini, headquartered in Paris, has over 100,000 employees in 36 countries that service five industry sectors. The 17,000 Capgemini professionals who are dedicated to the financial services industry develop and deliver business and IT solutions and industry thought leadership, which create tangible value for more than 900 companies globally.

Most of the positions Capgemini will recruit for in Charlotte will require a degree and background in information technology. While individual wages will vary by job function, the overall average salary for new jobs is $62,396.

"Capgemini's decision to locate here is a strong indicator of Charlotte's international presence," said Bob Morgan, Charlotte Chamber President. "It also demonstrates our continued and growing competitiveness as a financial services center."

Robert Hinton and David Berry with Jones Lang LaSalle Americas are representing Capgemini Financial Services U.S.A., Inc. in its real estate transaction yet to be completed.

The Charlotte Chamber would like to thank Governor Beverly Perdue, N.C. Department of Commerce, N.C. Community Colleges, Mecklenburg County, City of Charlotte and Charlotte Center City Partners for their assistance with this important project.
