Recently the Sunday hours at the Hingham Public Library were eliminated due to budget constraints.  This was a real shame since Hingham hosts one of the better public libraries on the South Shore.  With over 165,000 books on site, extensive print and electronic resources, it has something to offer to almost everybody.  The library was built in 1966, and renovated and expanded in 2002.  The Library is also a part of the Old Colony Library Network allowing it to share resources with libraries through out the South Shore.

Thankfully an anoymous donor acting through the Rhode Island Foundation, came through with a generous donation that was paired with a reserve fund transfer recently approved by the Board of Selectmen and the Advisory Committee.  This will allow the library to begin offering Sunday Hours starting on January 23rd.  Sunday Hours are from 1 to 5 PM and are expected to continue through May 22nd.
