If It Is To Be ...Is It Up To Me?

In my last blog we took a look at what you are doing in your career that is already working great for you. Then we looked at how you can improve further on these activities. Today it's time to look from the opposite direction.

I'm not going to guarantee you this will be the most comfortable process you've ever experienced, but it definitely will be good for your career.

Today we're going to look at the things you're doing in your real estate career which are not working for you and things which may have failed miserably. The only way you can really turn bad things around is to:

#1- Acknowledge that they exist become fully aware of them.

#2 - Learn how to eliminate them from your repertoire and replace them with productive and positive activities.

Let's take a look!

Ask yourself the following question:

What are the activities I am performing in my real estate career right now which are not producing good results for me?

Put to paper as many things as you can think of …then go into great detail on each one. Some of these may actually be activities you are currently not doing but you felt you should be doing. Some of them may be things you are doing but not getting positive results from. Be as specific and detailed as possible.

Here's the next question to ask yourself:

How much will it cost me over the next five years in my career if I don't eliminate negative behaviors from my life and replace them with productive behaviors?

As I said earlier, looking at things this way may not be easy for you. But once you get it all out on the table and dissect the problem …it's much easier to permanently erase the negative from your life all together.

This type of Coaching Session is definitely one of the most difficult for an associate. It involves you openly looking at behaviors which are not easy to look at and then admitting the truth to yourself about them.

But relax ….It’s all down-hill from there!

What will your career feel like when you've replaced all these less than ideal behaviors with the ones which will work for you in a positive way?

How will it feel knowing that with your own self commitment to do so, you will completely transform your real estate career in the next three to six months to an entirely new level you will be proud of?

Effort and Commitment : Wake up every morning and look in the mirror and say these nine words to yourself …IF IT IS TO BE …IT’S UP TO ME.

While I am shaving every day,  I repeat this mantra aloud several times …yes the guys in the gym locker room looked at me kind of funny …at first …but now I hear several of them repeating these same words to themselves. Funny thing how positivity can spread and overcome negative thoughts isn’t it?

Lastly …Remember this  Nothing will work unless you do …And the person who says it can’t be done should not interrupt the one who is already doing it!  Commit to yourself today to be the best you can be …there is no one or nothing to blame …It really is UP TO YOU!

Have a great weekend everyone!

SO TRUE Coach!!! I love it - Should say - who is repsonsible for our Success or Failure in the headline.  We should all be responsible for ourselves and not blame others.  This is excellent advice Eddie - I will share it immediately!  Thanks for your wisdom as usual...
