What if the Whole World Saw Your Feedback?

What if the Whole World Saw Your Feedback?

Placed an order today for some new boots for snows
hoeing on Ebay.  One of the sellers listing at the LOWEST price also had feedback that was less than stellar.  Comments noted were: did not return phone calls, sent the wrong merchandise and several stating that merchandise was not sent on time.

Needless to say I went with a higher priced seller with fantastic feedback. Price is NEVER as important to me as service.

Here is an example of the feedback system on Ebay:

Positive feedback rating
Excellent paddle, fast shipping, well packaged AAAA++ Dec-26-10 14:41
Kayak Paddle; Werner Athena Carbon Sm. Diam Bent Shaft (#250734182583) US $300.00 View Item

The great part about Ebay feedback is that it allows the Buyer to leave
public feedback about the Seller AND allows the Seller to leave feedback on the Buyer. The seller can then reply to the feedback. It also shows all the other feedback on the Seller from other Buyers, as well as all comments and ratings left for and by the Buyer.

I can't help but wonder how great this would work in the Real Estate world.  I would love to be able to leave fantastic public feedback for Buyer's and Listing Agents that are awesome to work with and leave the opposite for those that are less than professional!  It would be great to be able to have unsolicited feedback on the job I do from clients, Attorneys, Buyer's and List Agents!

What would our feedback look like in the Real Estate world?  Called back promptly!  Worked through some major issues!  Delivered the loan on time!!  Sold my house fast at the list price! OR List Agent was never involved. Had to physically hunt him down to get an answer.  Must be a trust fund baby cus this sure can't pay the bills for him.

Would this info affect your clients in choosing you to represent them?  Would it change who you choose to do business with?  Would it force all of us to perform at the highest possible level of professionalism?  Would it be extra incentive for all of us to be a little nicer, a little more patient, a little more professional and to look out for our clients a bit more when we know everyone will rate us on a public forum

I think so and think that some sort of a public feedback system for everyone involved would help elevate our chosen Real Estate professions to new heights. Look forward to your comments and to brainstorming on a way to put this into action!

First of all Keith, CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SNOWSHOES!

Feedback is a wonderful thing! Although I may hear feedback either positive or negative, sometimes I take them with a grain of salt. I'd rather experience it for myself.

Have a great weekend!

This would tremendously help out the real estate industry and how we do things.  Buyers and sellers have this misconception that because a listing agent has 10+ listings they must be the best.  Not always the case.  Some of these high volume listing agents do not return phone calls, let things slip through the cracks and don't feel bad about it because they think in high volume rather than focusing on good service for each separate transaction.

I think you're onto something KP!

Thanks Kath!  Exactly what I was going for...each client deserves to feel like their transaction is the only transaction!

There's a site called Angie's list that does exactly that.  However you have to join, and who might find you.  It would be a good thing for all consumers to be able to view.

Thanks Pam.  I agree that Angie's list is a great start! Not a fan of the membership though!

Customer service is everything. I always read the feedback on Ebay and on Amazon. Things would be so different if realtors had feedback. Kathleen said it perfectly, people think that a busy agent is the better agent.

Brilliant!!!!! love it.  I wonder how we can do that one?  maybe in the MLS since most of our MLS's have a public side to them.  That would be so cool.  love it love it love it.  Great post :)  I hope this gets featured (i voted for it to be).  Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier this week to comment about the "like" suggestion.  Pam #5 mentioned about a site that you have to pay for (no fun).  I think it should be free.
