Paul Allen's Vulcan Real Estate got a big boost recently when Microsoft announced they will lease up to 100,000 square feet of space in South Lake Union.  Microsoft will share the space at Group Health's new corporate headquarters in the just completed Westlake/Terry building.  Now, 100,000 square feet is nothing compared to the numerous campuses Microsoft has on the Eastside, but it is nice to see them cross the lake.

It has also been rumored that largest online retailer may also acquire one million square feet of office space in the South Lake Union area.  That'll be a boon to the redevelopment of the SLU district, though it will leave many downtown office buildings looking for new tenants.
