Up for a CHALLENGE?!?!?!!!
The challenge is this: Post a blog on activerain for each of 30 consecutive days!
I'm a new real estate agent (5 months since receiving my license) although I worked in the real estate field for the State of Florida for almost 8 years. My broker, Joe Manausa, a regular contributor to activerain, challenged me with this assignment. Joe sees it is as a way to raise my visibility in the real estate community, ("oh my god, at what cost?" is what I'm asking myself right now???), raising my awareness of the importance the internet plays in the real estate world (it has NOT invaded the State of Florida's real estate business to THIS degree yet!!!) and to start making connections beyond those I already have around the state, (I can always use more!).
It sounded so much easier when he described the exercise. Joe was on his 60th day when he suggested this to me. I thought no big deal, an English major from FSU (Go 'Noles!!), writing is fairly easy for me. Joe also suggested I start by creating my profile, joining a couple of groups and sending comments to several blogs. Piece of cake, right?
Oh, brother....did this intimidate me! Profile, fairly easy. Joining groups... lots of them, but several look interesting. Reading blogs, easy. Commenting - oh no. For all the world to see what I'm thinking? Heaven forbid! It took me 3 days of reading other comments before I got up the nerve. But, a commitment is a commitment, so I jumped in and found something I care about - something vitally important to Florida - something I wasn't afraid to share.... my postion on.... Florida's Save the Everglades license tag!
With that one comment an amazing thing happened... the power of the pen came over me. I no longer fear that the world will be reading my thoughts! So, here is my first of 30 blogs... So get ready real estate associates, you are in for a treat!
