Size does matter. Especially when it comes to getting links done.
Allow me to introduce you to SEO success story #192. The story of Jamie Mades, REALTOR.
He's a Keller Williams agent, and he hangs his license with Keller Williams Clients' Choice Realty in Colorado Springs.
Two years ago, Jamie had a Hoop Jumper site. It was an okay, kind of website. But things were painfully wrong.
For starters, his URL (Domain) was just about as long as a New York Skyscraper is tall. It wouldn't even fit on a business card.
It-was-painfully-linked-together-with-dashes-and-had-a Colorado-Springs-Real-Estate-Name.com
Jamie had zero visibility on Google and about 103 incoming links.
Here's What Jamie Did...
Jamie had his website bulldozed and he scooped up a sexier and shorter domain name that Google liked.
It was much shorter and had the main key words in the domain name.
He selected: ColoradoSpringsTeam.com
Over a ten month period, Jamie's Google visibility climbed like a bell curve. Leads were so good, he reported a killer 2009, because in December alone, his commissions topped $40,000. A year when most REALTORS were doing nothing but whining about how bad the market was treating them. Jamie was finally enjoying life at the top of the real estate food chain.
Jamie added an attractive IDX module from iHomeFinder. He could create as many hot sheets as he wanted. Each neighborhood was linked to one. Over several months, Jamie's pages grew and Google continued to spider and crawl them.
Next, Jamie added a WordPress blog and began studying how other websites work and began adding neighborhoods to them, pointing back to his website.
Lastly, Jamie spent several more months building up links. These are the one way incoming links pointing to Jamie's site form high Google PageRank sites. A high PageRank site is considered to have a PR of 5/10 to 7/10. Only Google has a 10/10 PageRank site and a handful of sites such as Yale, and others have a PageRank of 8/10 or 9/10.
Jamie sought out relevant websites to get the REL FOLLOW links on them, pointing to his site with a rich keyword rich word such as: COLORADO HOMES for SALE, and COLORADO SPRINGS MILITARY RELOCATION.
Exercise: Google: Colorado Springs Homes. You'll find Jamie page one, #1 naturally.
And over a period of several months, Jamie's inbound links have grown to where it is today.
