The January 31 Day Challenge seemed like a good idea at the time. :) Ok....still a good idea, but it can be exhausting. Today, for instance.....a blog post? You have got to be kidding me.
I was up late last night, up early today and out all day. A blog post EVERY day? uh....
But here I am.....trying to work my way up to the required word count. Are you bored? I understand....me too!
But
It is an example of what to write when you have no ideas!
The challenges get to you. You sometimes tend to run out of ideas. You can do it. I know you can.
Karen - not to be critical, but I'm kind of over these "every day" contests. Some days we just don't have it, some days we have several ideas for posts. I did the 30 day challenge in August, and all I can say is there is still a difference between quality and quanity. I'm living proof of that :)
Karen, I am having the same issue! I work until the wee hours and then remember that my "31 days of Jan. homework blog" is due and it is almost midnight and I have no clue what to write...by the time I write my entry, it is so late that nobody sees it anyway! It has been a good workout for the brain cells, so I just keep plodding along...Now that you have written on the subject of not knowing what to write and making it your blog for the day, I have to actually come up with something good, don't I? Drats!! Stay tuned for another exciting episode of "31 days of aimless babble!"
Karen- I have to agree with Ken (#3)... I can't believe you're at a loss for words but your post makes me feel a lot better. I've been doing the January Challenge and trying not to wait until the very end of the day. I started one yesterday and even had a subject. But, now matter what I did, it just didn't come out right. So I ended up ditching that topic and picked something else. Love what you did, though.
Kathy, my husband is shocked as well. Long day. 17-house day. Relocation clients..and normal fodder for my posts are interesting things that happen....and nothing really unusual did? Guess that's good.

Karen~ I took the challenge this fall and again this month. I just returned from spending two days with my sister while she had double mastectomies. I thought about dropping out, but then I found comfort in writing about her surgery. I probably would not have shared that with AR, though, had it not been for the challenge.
ROFL...some days, they just pour out...other days, you wonder if you have enough left in you to write anything at all!
I thought I was going to be writing this EXACT post today, but then something happened this afternoon and I thought, "aha! A blog post!" so I can save THIS post for another day.
Karen - Thank you for this!!! Truly. Those of us that are lesser beings are finding this extremely challenging. It is reassuring to know that someone of your experience has the same mental...um...pauses. I always enjoy your posts, btw!
Last few months I have had to force myself to stay in the game. Must be a form of ActiveRain overload. lol
Karen, Lucky so far, there's usually something to go post on that we haven't done enough of...be it Localism, our listing inventory, or something triggered off someone else's blog or comment.

Liz, I'm sorry to hear about your sister! I hope she's ok! It can be very therapeutic to blog. And people here truly do care about each other. I'll keep her in my thoughts!

lol... I have certainly done my share of this type blog too... I have blogged now everyday since Sept. 1, 2010.... My goal is one year... it is tough huh?!
Hi Karen~ I had writer's block just last week. I had ideas, but I couldn't find anything to say about the idea! Very frustrating and I'm glad it's over. I'm sure you'll do better next time out. There are pros and cons to writing every day. Bottom line, no matter what anyone else says...it's your choice! :-)
I tend to agree, Tony...but not all posts are about business and Google Juice. And it took me a while to realize that. This post was more about relating to others. Yes, I wanted to keep my promise to post every day, but also to illustrate that sometimes we can just blog about not knowing what to blog. It is funny and humanizes us.....I think,
These challenges are good at motivating us, but sometimes you're just too tired and there are no ideas in the well. Maybe blog ahead on a day when you have a few ideas. That would be helpful. Having to just take something from draft mode to public.
Karen....this makes me feel so much better. I've taken on the challenge too to get myself into more of a regular habit & the past few days I have really struggled to pull something out of the air. I managed to get something done but I am worried if I'll have enough for the rest of the month! I still have to figure out today's but I am thinking football!
