Speechless Sunday.........INCREDIBLE Icicles!

I've seen plenty of icicles in my life, but NOTHING like this!  Some of them extended from the gutter system right down to the deck floor - or the snow on top of it.

They were destroyed removed and some of them carried some pretty serious weight and could definitely be classified as lethal.  Nevertheless, they were really a sight to behold!

Yikes. At least my snow has melted.......into the mud. It's cold here not that cold and at least the sun is shinning on the mud!

Hi Sherry -- We have more snow coming this week to add insult to injury.  We have gotten hammered here in CT this winter.....and it's far from over.  We'll have our share of mud, too,  when all this stuff starts melting.  Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Barbara - Those are crazy icicles! I am not looking forward to more snow so I help they are wrong for the forecast.  We still have mountains of it.

Peggy -- Isn't that something? I was just told we have 3-5 inches coming on Tuesday.  I don't even want to watch the TV or listen to the radio forecasts.  I'm sure you'll be getting some this week also.  You're right about the mountains.  It's really hard getting out of some parking lots and driveways the banks are so high!

Barbara, they are all over the place. Hopefully they will melt as quickly as they formed to prevent damage from ice dams.

Hi Ed -- Yes, they are.  These were just so thick and so long!  The gutter system contributed to these being so totally XTreme!  Get prepared for this week. There's more 'excitement' to come.

Barbara, they are beautiful but the can also be very dangerous if they happen to fall on someone.  Time to get out there with a baseball bat and knock them down :) :) :)

Hi George -- These pics were taken pre-baseball bat. LOL.  They could certainly be lethal.  Some were carrying some serious weight.

GOOD MORNING BARBARA!  We don't get to see this much (only if you go up north) in Arizona - and when we do - they aren't this terrific! -- G

Karen -- Daggers is right!  They could definitely do some damage.  I really can't remember when I saw anything like this last.

Debbie -- They are, aren't they?  Some icicles actually extended from gutter to deck. They're gone now, but what a sight!

Gabrielle -- Terrific is right!  The new 'leafless' gutter system had everything  to do with this but even so, it was definitely a sight to see. I certainly wouldn't associate icicles with AZ at first thought!

I have never seen icicles like this before. Looks like they could use some heating coils!

WOW! CT looks like it is going through a dangerous winter, first tons of snow and now you're walking under the biggest icicles I've ever seen!  You sure are rivaling CO in winter conditions.  We just got 16" last night, hope it's not headed your way...Be careful out there!  :)

Hi Didi -- You're right about rivaling CO conditions. We had snow AND then ice this morning.  VERY dangerous today.  More to come Friday.  We don't know where to put it all.  That 16" just may be headed our way.  Ugh!
