I was recently asked what the Blue Bag Schedule is for the year 2011.
What is the Blue Bag program?
In Pasco County, Florida the Solid Waste and Resource Recovery Department has a pro-active response to waste including but not limited to solid waste management and recycling.
In Pasco County, Florida residents use blue bags to recycle our recyclables. It is called the Blue Bag Residential Curbside Recycling Program. This Blue Bag Residential Curbside Recycling Program is voluntary yet many people take part in this endeavor.
Where can I find these blue bags?
Blue bags can be purchased at grocery stores as well as stores such as Lowe's Home Depot, and Dollar General. They are not special bags. As long as they are blue bags you can use them to put your recyclable bottles and cans in them.
Who can take part in this recycling program?
The Blue Bag Residential Curbside Recycling Program is available to single-family homes as well as multi-family homes that are serviced as single-family homes. If you are paying for twice per week curbside garbage pickup service then you have a recycling service at least twice per month.
There are numerous garbage haulers throughout Pasco County, Florida. The list of these garbage haulers can be seen here. If you would like a copy of the specific blue bag pickup schedule you have to contact your garbage hauler directly. Contact numbers can be seen here as well.
What if I do not have my garbage hauled? Where can I go to recycle my bottles and cans?
If you do not have twice-per-week garbage service you can take your recyclables to one of many drop-off locations. You can recycle bottles and cans and newspapers at select locations. A list of these drop-off locations can be seen here.
What is Waste Management of Pasco County's Blue Bag Schedule for 2011?
For those who have Waste Management of Pasco County, the list of scheduled blue bag pickups were sent out in late December 2010.
