Speechless Sunday: From The Zoo
The Detroit Zoo is a wonderful place to take the family. My particular favorite place is the Butterfly Gardens. Besides being a nice, warm place to go during the colder months, I think the dozens of varieties of butterflies are wonderful. Here is one of my favorites.
The Detroit Zoo is located at I-696 and Woodward Avenue in Huntington Woods, next door to Royal Oak.
Hi Jason, Wow, very cool closeup shot! Those circles on the wings almost look like eyes!
Don't know if it's the perspective or what, but that butterfly looks enormous!

Cindy, those spots were about the size of eyes!
Karen, it was much larger than the typical butterfly from these parts. Probably 3x the size.

That is very beautiful. We have a similar exhibit here in Southwest Michigan at the Meijer Gardens every year. Butterflies are so aesthetic!
Hi Jason. Wow! What a cool butterfly! It took me a moment to realize that I wasn’t looking at a reptile’s face and eyes!
