19 Comments on Active Rain reaches 200,000!!
I just saw this as well. Have they said who that 200,000th member is? Wouldn't that be something to be that new member? Maybe A.R. will make their mortgage payments for a year? Whatdaya think? Maybe they should pay ours for coming up with the idea.
Hi Alan - I didn't notice that until you pointed it out and I have to say that your photo is just PERFECT to commemorate this milestone! Fun!
And for this special occasion we are all wearing tuxedos! :-)
Wendy in Charlotte NC
Good Morning Allen, it is excellent news, thanks for passing it on.
It is a special occasion and I'm happy to see AR celebrate in style. Kerrie can spell her name any way she wants. What a PR person she is.
This was the first thing I noticed this morning! Congratulations to ActiveRain and the 200,000 members who make this THE place to be!
By the way, keep up the great work..... 273.5 -10.5. Well done my friend!
Very cool! But I do think that they should tell us who lucky number 200,000 is! Just for the sheer bragging rights!
Alan~ Congrats to AR.... but (tough weekend maybe, but you maintained props for that)
Who knew it would happen before we could get a contest together. I say AR should give a round of AR points to everyone who comments on this post. 25 points sounds about right. :)
May - I noticed this as well. Over the years, that's a heck of a lot of people taking the time to come onboard. Out of curiousity, I do wonder what % are actively contributing still?
Larry - I think they should get a lotta start-up points, and maybe a sponsorship for that... whaddya think?
Judy - no more appropriate time for the milling masses to wear their very best.
Wendy - dern tooting.
Dan - that is true (and it's A-L-A-N.. it's spelled out right at the top, there).
Craig - thank you... but I was (272 -12) yesterday... weekends are rough.
Kathryn - I think they should too.
Kim - let's see what tomorrow brings.
Chris - I know, it happened so fast... and I think that's reasonable... 25 points for all... right, Kerrie.
Jason - I think it's probably a very small percentage (the names that we see on a regular basis)... probably less than 10%.
This is quite the accomplishment. I know they have been getting close for quite some time. I wonder who the 200,000th new member was?
I always come away with a little nugget of knowledge. And I agree about Kerrie. I met her in person and she's a nice as she's pretty.
Michael - it sure is an accomplishment... they haven't told us, yet, who #200,000 was.
Susan - is she pretty??? really? (ahem) i hadn't noticed.
Alan,
I had the unique opportunity to meet Kerrie in person. She's even more interesting in person. I guess you're gonna have to fly to the next raincamp to meet her, her side kick and Mister Bob Stewart in person. One interesting group. And you're right 200k is a great feat. I wonder what the limit will be.
Greg - I, too, had the unique pleasure of meeting both of the above luminaries... (at Rain Camp, when it was here in the Chicago area, I also got to meet Brad) Kerrie was, indeed, cute as the proverbial Dickens, and Bob... well, he was Bob.
I just saw your blog and the total at the top of the page. This is quite a milestone for AR.
James - isn't that great?
Hi Alan. The Active Rain Gods offered one community sponsorship to each member which is amazing. I love Active Rain.
