January in Fayetteville, NC
The first two weeks of the year have flown by here in Fayetteville, NC and with the snowy days some of us are ready to get out and do something. I thought I would give you a few ideas for the next couple of weeks.
January 20, 22, and 29 are the next dates for our local hockey team, The FireAntz, will be taking the ice. Its a great time for the entire family...and affordable too!
January 21 at the Clark Park Nature Center, they have Nature Totes to check out for FREE (designed for pre-k-4th grade). Themes are birds, gardening, spiders, reptiles...and did I mention free?
If a play is your idea of fun, go and see Hairspray on Friday January 21 at the Cape Fear Regional Theater. This should be a good show!
If want to add some laughs to your life, go and see Bill Engvall on Saturday January 22, 2011 at 8:00 at the Crown Theater. Bill Engvall is a part of the Blue Comedy Tour and is well-known for the Here’s Your Sign jokes.
January 24 is Youth Catch Clinic at the Lake Rim Park...this is for kids 8-15 to learn to fish and fishing ethics. This is FREE but pre-registration is required.
You can always hit the historic downtown area on January 28 for The Arts Council Fourth Friday. This is another family friendly event for all ages (and FREE). Bring the family and enjoy the arts and local businesses in our area...you might see someone you know!
January 29, Fort Bragg Family Fun 5k Walk/Run at 9:00 am in Hedrick Stadium, open to military/government ID card holders and family members. No registration required and its FREE!
So as you can see, there are a lot of choices....I hope to see you at some of them! Stay tuned to see whats going on in February!
