I couldn't possibly calculate the hours my family and I spent playing Waterworks when I was younger.  There was nothing more satisfying than getting the right card and combination of pipes to get from the handles to the faucet and win the game!

When I read that this game was getting re-released I began reminiscing about how much stronger and more powerful the copper pipes were than the aluminum pipes. (If you had a copper pipe card your opponents can't put a "leak" card on top.)

But what about the new plastic pipes that are supposed to be even more durable.  And how about the deteriorating polybutylene pipes that were the cause of a major class-action lawsuit back in the late 80s/early 90s.  Wouldn't it have been fun to add those cards to the new version of the game to really spice it up.

Instead of just using a wrench to fix the leak you could put a little hard hat on the polybutylene pipe to indicate the major reconstruction necessary to rip out and repair the pipes.  Or maybe it could be a little bar of gold to replicate the expense required for such a major plumbing overhaul.

Too bad more Realtors aren't contacted for market surveys when products like this are being developed.  Think of the valuable input we could provide.

Huh...never heard of that game before. I have heard of those darn polybutylene pipes. My old house had it all ripped out of it.

I've not heard of this game either... Who is putting the game out?  Where can I find one?

I totally forgot about that game!!!!!!!!!!!  That is so weird, I remember playing it at a church sleepover (probably weirder).  I'll definitely look for it.  Thanks!!

Looks like a company called Winning Moves is releasing the new version of this game and many others.  True - this wasn't one of the most popular games - but it sure was fun.  Of course I was about 12 years old so I'm not sure if it would hold the same kind of appeal now that I'm "not 12".  :)

Water Works is one of my favorite games!  Parker Brothers came out with the game in the 70's.  I still have mine, dated 1972... Complete with the Plumbers Manual (on how to play the game).  The game is for 2-5 players, using 8-15 cards to make your continuous pipeline.  Similarly, a lot of agents wished they had a continuous pipeline as well (no pun intended on the "well')...  'Still have the complete deck of cards, plastic bathtub for the Draw and Drain cards and those tiny little pipe-wrenches... Glad to hear it's returning...Sort of wished I could...
