6 Comments on Paia Maui HI 96779 - new shops in town
Hi Georgina -- had to check out your post to get a Hawaii update. Just visited in November and loved it! You're right about shopping in the rain. Who cares about a little rain? It's so warm there that it's really a minor inconvenience.
Georgina - The DaKine store will probably do very well. Good luck in 2011 to all the other local shops as well.
Hi Georgina, I'm very familiar with Dakine. One of our sons worked in the advertising dept as a graphic designer quite a few years ago. He has been in Japan for about 5 yrs now and works/lives at a mountain resort/snowboarding lodge. He usually gets new Dakine products at least once a year and I pick it up at the office in Hood River to ship to him. I knew they were in HI but didn't know where exactly so now I do.
Georgina - another great localism post! I love those little shops much better than going to a mall!
Georgina - I've never had the opportunity to visit Hawaii but it's on my bucket list for sure! I'm not a shopper by nature but I would definitely venture into Sophie Grace Maui and check out all those beautiful accessories.
I'm happy to see so many comments, thanks for taking the time!
Amy - This retail store is their latest location, but the original location was out in the country at an old pineapple cannery. I think that one has now shut down. It sounds like your son is really enjoying life!
Donna - I hope you get to scratch Maui off your bucket list before too long! The only trouble is, you'll have to add it again once you've been here.... #50 - go back to Maui and spend more time.
