What more fitting day than today, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr, to reflect on or own personal dreams and goals, and how we can best support the dreams and goals of others.
We've all worked much harder these past few years, trying to successfully close escrows in a market flooded with the craziness of short sales. The strongest lesson there for me is how valuable and precious our time truly is, and how important it is to always work with respectful people. Somebody permanently stole MLK's time, and the wrong clients can rob you and I too, although not in such a tragically final way, anyone who steals our time prevents us from fully living the live we were created to live, and sharing our gifts with others.
Many people, of course, are unintentional time robbers, so it's our job to educate them. Remember how you rode a bike before you became a driver? Or, I remember how polite yet nonchalantly I would treat salespeople... before I became one.
I hired a coach this year, and in reflecting which direction I want to take my life and my business, I realized this: if I were to die tonight, it would sadden me immensely knowing that I had not completely fulfilled the purpose I was designed for. Don't get me wrong, I've done a lot and lived a very rich, giving, sharing life, but there's still so much more to enjoy and accomplish.
So here's to 2011... new dreams, and new doings.
