Hingham, MA 4th Quarter Condo Sales for 2010

The Hingham, MA Condo market continues to show signs of mixed results.  While much of the housing stock in Hingham is largely single family homes, there are more condo choices than one would believe to be true.  And these choices vary in price, location and services.  The choices in condos vary greatly from your traditional condo association community to waterfront communities, to the opportunity to live in an exclusive gated community within country club with professional sports stars residing within the community.

Fourth Quarter 2010 saw six condos sell in Hingham at an average sales price of $332,667 or $298 per square foot in locations throughout town.  In some ways this is a favorable comparison to the eight condos that sold at an average of $660,111 for $340 per square foot.  The main difference was that in 2009, 5 units sold over at Hewlett's Landing a high end new construction development in the Hingham Shipyard.  These 5 units were at or above the seven figure mark and skew the numbers higher.  If these units are removed from the mix, the comps to 2010 look rather favorable.
