"Peace and Quiet!" How nice that sound is at 07:00 a.m. My roof replacement job is FINALLY finished, done, complete, accomplished.....! HOORAY!
It all started a week ago this morning, and now, a week later it's done. It was nearly finished last Wednesday. Yet, like a lot of things with home ownership and maintenance, the 'contractor' ran out of materials!
What? How can that be? My questions exactly. And, even though they tried to find some locally on other job sites so they could finish it, they ended up waiting on the supplier to get more in. I think that's called MURPHY's LAW.
Anyway, yesterday morning about 08:00 a.m. my wife asks "Who's on my roof and what are they doing? They didn't even knock on the door or notify us ahead of time. I'll be certain to let the project manager know about that. The good news is that it took less than an hour to finish and clean-up a little more.
So, what do you think? I really like how the handled the roof vents. It looks very clean and nice. I ought to get at least another 20 years out of this roof. Oh yes, there will be a final inspection within the next week or so. I'll let you know that goes.
Meanwhile, I'm just going to sit back and enjoy my coffee, paper and the "Peace and Quiet!"
