Wrote a blog the other day and it hit a "high" note in the realtor community. I hope that this message goes beyond the professionals and reaches those that need the help, here in Massachusetts, and for that matter across the United States! This is a great country and no one should loose their home with out a concicious decision to "let it go".
Not being able to reach into the homes and hearts of those who are having a hard time making mortgage payments I just figured I'd post a couple of relevent inexpensive resources. I am hoping that one word or one chapter will allow a distressed homeowner the strength to pick up the phone and get local counsel from a Realtor and/or a Real Estate attorney.
Tom Geller at http://www.savemyhomebook.com is a wonderful resource. I purchased 10 copies of the book to hand out locally to consumers who might need a quick read. I pay them forward. I got the book from the National Associaiton of Realtors.
I also have a Neighbor Works America brochure from the National Association of Realtors that spells out some of the "REAL" options people might consider: "ARE YOU HAVING PROBLEMS PAYING YOUR MORTGAGE?"
I think it is important that a true REALTOR is all about HOME OWNERSHIP not just HOME SALES! I'd like to see less foreclosures in Massachusetts, especially here on the North Shore. The place I have called home for the last 25 years!
