So I have had several calls from this Jennifer Hughs (406-532-3754) from Missoula Montana. The first time we spoke, she told be she was a Realtor and had a local lead that she had put a ton of time in with, and that this person suddenly decided to purchase a home on Oahu. Because of the amount time she already put in with this buyer, she said she would want a higher than normal referral fee, 35%. I agreed to her fee amount and then did not hear back from her for some time. I would follow up and always got her voice mail where I wouild leave messages.
I was in the office early this morning, 7:30 AM Hawaiian Standard Time, and I saw that she had just called. I called her back right away. She introduced herself to me again and said she did not know why my name was so familiar to her and went into how she has a buyer lead for Ewa Beach and asked if I served that area as a Realtor, I said I did. She then started into how her company was not a "Lead Generation Company" but that her company generated leads for a fee. The difference? I have no clue...
Once she said, about 5 minutes into her script, "You can buy a package of 10 leads for $1,000 up front" I knew her company was not for me. I politely said, "Oh I'm so sorry, I don't buy leads, I only work with referrals to other brokerages" she simply hung up on me. She had asked me a question and when I started to answer her, after listening to her for 5 minutes, she hung up...SLAM! I called her back to let her know that her rudeness was not appreciated a couple of times, but all she would do is pick up and hang up again.
This is NOT the behavior of a reputable real estate company, which she said they were as her owner had his Brokers Lincense with Remax. This is not even the behavior of a bad lead generation company. This is the behavior of a Phone Scam Company. It's nice to see a company's true colors without it costing you a cent. Send them $1,000 upfront? NOT ON YOUR LIFE!
