Are you allowing yourself to be flexible? Are you stretching your boundaries? Are you making touches outside of your local local area? How many referral deals are in your pipeline? Are you waiting for the phone to ring, or working with other professionals developing a broader base of contacts?
While Real Estate is local in nature, it often goes beyond your local area. Managing to have a good referral system in place, and being able to work with other professionals helps us as professionals achieve better relationships and provide good service to our customers. Our combined spheres of influence, expand and constrict. Depending on where our past customers go, and new contacts we make are coming from.
Florida is transient. Attracting millions of visitors a year, some entertain the notion of investing here, relocating here, or retiring here. Many come from out of State in hopes of living the Florida Endless Summer life. It is not easy for many families to remain here however.
The cost of living has increased disproportionately to the pay scale. Homes that were once thought of as inexpensive in comparison to those elsewhere, have now approached market saturation points. While conversely, incomes have not.
Increased building expenses, hurricane damages, increased property insurance, increased property taxes, rising gas prices, and a decrease in consumer confidence have driven many retirees elsewhere in search of more affordable housing.
Being able to to provide service to your customers long distance will help broaden your base and in turn increase your business long term. This can be done by establishing strong connections with others professionals and referring customers who are moving to them. This is one way of building your base. We can easily multiply the volume of business we do, by reaching out to those professionals in other areas our customers are moving to.
This is particular importance to smaller companies, or solo practitioners. If you haven't given thought to establishing some long distance ties, perhaps you should.
