McMartin Realty will merge with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Mason-McDuffie, combining two midtown Sacramento offices.

Better Homes and Gardens Mason-McDuffie partner and manager Rich Wilks announced the deal to agents and employees Wednesday.

"Our business cultures and teams are similar, and combined, we will be an even stronger presence in the midtown area," Wilks said in a news release.

The combined offices will have 60 agents.

Brian McMartin started McMartin Realty on J Street eight years ago, and has increased to more than 30 agents. The brokerage is active in the community, including hosting numerous Second Saturday events in recent years.

"Joining a reputable midtown broker was an important factor in my decision," said McMartin, whose team - including his sales manager and assistant - will move to the new office at 1819 K St. "It was extremely important to me that no one lost their job over this merger. We have been able to find a position for everybody and I couldn't be happier."

The merged company has a new website at bhghome.com/midtown.

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Mason-McDuffie operates 36 offices in Northern California and the Reno area, with more than 1,900 agents.
