Pay it Forward . . . I Closed a Transaction, now I Make my Donations

Closed, 53 Old Fairwood Road, Bethany, CT

Throughout my RE/MAX career, I have always been a Miracle Agent. That doesn't mean that it was a miracle if I sold a home. Being a Miracle Agent in the RE/MAX System, means that I choose to make a donation to the Miracle Home System from the proceeds of my commission.

These donations are used to fund special programs at the nearest Children's hospital, which in this case is the Children's wing at Hartford Hospital. All donations are used locally, and are used wisely. All donations above $25. will have a card sent out to the person we designate.

I take an equal amount and donate to the Susan G Komen Foundation. This is to fund a cure for breast cancer, which hits very close to home for me.

As the Komen Foundation send nothing out, I end up sending a letter to my clients, letting them know that a donation was sent in their name.

I have sent out a lot of letters over the years, because the donations have totaled thouands of dollars. My clients are appreciative, but more importantly, I feel good.

Friday last, Jan 14, I closed on one of my listings. Today, I made the donations I said I was going to make. I just may sleep a little better this evening.

My special thanks to all that have stopped to comment, aside from the group posting, I didn't think this post would get to be featured. My gift is 2% of commision earned, gross, with a minimum of $25. to each charity.

This is not in lieu of a home warranty, as I write that into the purchase contract and have the sellers cover that, especially when there is central air that cannot be tested this time of year.

One of my very favorate things about RE/MAX is how involved RE/MAX as a company and RE/AMX agents are so involved in giving back to the community.

Thanks Ed for your involvement.

Ed, You are a stellar human being....the real deal...I can tell just from the one phone conversation we had.  I'm so glad I know you via AR (and someday hope to meet you in person).  You restore my faith in humanity (and over the past few days, that has been sorely tested).

Hi Ed - I think people who give consistently throughout the year actually end up giving more than others who just write one check. At Keller Williams we can have a portion from each closing donated to KW Cares. The individual amounts may be small, but they really add up!
