Lately, I am very lucky. I won a T-shirt from ActiveRain as well as I won the grand prize on Twitter contest when ActiveRain hit 200K mark.
I was lucky once again - and this time, I could not believe it!
I won an iPad, yes, an iPad....a toy that I always wanted - just did not want to spend money on it.
But iPad as a prize? Anytime I'll take it. I guess, you'll be excited too, if you received an email stating that you are a winner of an iPad.
Here's the email I recieved from none other than CEO of CraigsList - Jim Buckmaster.

Attention Craigslist Poster,
My name is Jim Buckmaster, CEO of Craigslist. We have recently partnered with Apple for a one-time promotional event...we are giving away free Apple iPads to randomly selected Craigslist posters. You have been selected as one of our winners for today. We randomly choose numbers to match up with ads posted on Craigslist and your post came up in our latest drawing. All you need to do is click here to go to our site made for this promotion and enter your email to get your free iPad. Simply make sure you enter your email address and we will reserve an iPad for you. That's it!
Congrats on winning a free Apple iPad (valued at $800). In case you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email me back. However, you need to claim your free iPad first to ensure one will be set-aside for you before the deadline ends. We do understand that you may possibly see this email after the deadline but we suggest you click here to check out the site and enter your email address to see if we still have yours on hold, which we often-times do because others have not claimed theirs in time.
Thank you for using Craigslist,
Jim Buckmaster
CEO, Craigslist

Jim just forgot that that his email address should have a differnet domain name and it should not be xxxx@hotmail.com.
Jim also forgot to mention the deadline by which I had to claim my prize.
And best part is - Jim sent me an email to my business email address which is differnet that my CraigsList account id! (How did he know about my business email address? Well, it was a part of my post on CraigsList.)
To make it even better(!), the link to 'click here' (I have removed the link, BTW) showed me a web address that has nothing to do with CraigsList. Why on earth this Jimmy sends me an email from a hotmail account and sends me to a sight that is not his own site?
Needless to say, it's a scam - this scam artist somehow did not learn all the tricks, perhaps.
Do you post your ads on CraigsList? Please beware of such emails.
And just be careful, extra careful, if you won an iPad from Craigslist.
