Commuter Rail Service in Canton MA
Canton MA is home to two different commuter rail stations, Canton Center located in the "downtown" section of Canton and Canton Junction, which is located just a little bit outside of the center. The Stoughton line, runs from next door neighbor Stoughton, MA and makes stops both at Canton Center and Canton Junction, ending in Boston with stops at both Back Bay Station and South Station. The Providence line, runs from Providence, RI and only stops at Canton Junction. It also ends in Boston at both Back Bay and South Station. With both lines running through the "Junction" there are a variety of trains to catch to take you right into Boston.
The earliest train makes a stop just before 6:00 a.m. and the last train home from Boston leaves just before midnight. During the morning and afternoon commuter rush hours, the trains run pretty frequently. During mid-day and later evening, while there are not as many trains, there are certainly many options. The train ride from Canton to Boston is approximately 20 minutes, making for a relatively painless commute to Boston.
The trains also run on the weekends.
