This Tale Wags More Than The Dog

In my experience, a dog tail can create more than a tale especially when the dog is out for a walk. Here is another of my ideas for social networking with a leash. And again, there is nothing like doing something truly different in a New Year. Here is another of one of my forgotten things to do off line to develop local referral paths for new business. My 2011 business strategy is about bringing to life those referral ideas which have been sitting on my desk for a good part of 2010. It is my own call to action tip to generate another referral.

Tip # 6 -This Tale Wags More Than the Dog - One of the best things about dogs is they love to walk and play at the dog park. While they are busy sniffing out the latest arrival to the park, your chatting with other dog owners could be a way to explore whether their dog or someone their dog knows needs a bigger yard or dog run. Bingo - another doggone referral. As for cats, that is another story!

Imagine what could happen to your bottom line if you focused on creating another referral source. I know what is going to happen to mine. What about you? Do you see this as a dollar productive activity for your real estate practice or your business? What do you do to generate referrals?

Good way to explore other referral paths! As a dog lover I know first hand how they can help strike up a conversation...almost as much as a baby :)

I'm inspired.  And it's a beautiful day for the dog park.  Thanks for the suggestion, Emily.  Post suggested!  ('Hope they agree.)

Bill, walking the pup can be prospecting. Glad you know the benefits of dog companions.

Shannon, you are right about babies and dogs! It's the cats that are the challenge.

Margaret, thank you for the featured post suggestion. Fingers crossed, pup tail wagging!

Li, thank you for your kind words all the way from British Columbia.

Emily, What a great way to have your dog help you get business in this new year!  My cat won't be able to help me out as you mentioned, but she is there next to me while I'm on the computer, napping or looking out at the window at the birds.

Emily, we also take our dog Zeke for a walk in the park...he loves it and it is a great way to meet people and perhaps get a referral.

Emily,

An absolutely wonderful idea - but you already know this. I really should add this one to my list.

It would accomplish more than one goal for 2011.

Thanks,

Roseanne

Good post - my dogs did not have the benefit of dog parks, but I have seen the popularity of them since their inception.

Joyce, the pup enjoys it more!

Gloria, I think our cats are just to independent for parks, however I am thinking about a sales stragegy for my cat napping felines.

Anna, dogs need homes too. Your local shelter is a great place to visit and meet a friend for life.

Rebecca, sounds like Zeke is your next assistant!

Roseanne, add it to your list and make it happen. It works.

Carol, think of what you could make happen in your community if you lead a campaign for a dog park.

Emily, I came back to re-blog this today, since they ignored my suggestion for a feature, and I couldn't do so because it's a member's only post.  Why don't you change it to "public" and let me know when you do that, so I can re-blog it?

I just saw that you changed it... thank you.  I don't usually re-blog more than 2 or 3 posts a week, but my own post today wasn't eligible for the automatic 200 points (more than 10 in a week - imagine that!) so I re-blogged four.  I won't forget to come back later in the week for this one.

I don't have a dog, but I can see how this would be a great way to meet new and interesting people.  Especially those who are interested in dogs as well.

Execellent suggestion!

Margaret - WOW! In my book, we always need to take the time it takes... Thank you so much!

Kristal - I frequently meet people at the dog park who do not have a dog. They are there to learn more about dogs from other owners. I would check one out in your community. Good luck!
