Seminole Heights Candidates Forum for the 2011 City Elections

The Greater Seminole Heights neighborhood associations will sponsor a Candidate Forum on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at the Seminole Heights Garden Center; 5800 N. Central Avenue in Tampa.  The event will begin at 6:30 PM with a candidate meet and greet.  The Forum will begin at 7:00 PM and will feature candidates for Mayor and the City Council Districts that represent Seminole Heights.  Forum Moderator will be Rob Lorei, News and Public Affairs Director at WMNF Radio 88.5. 

Seminole Heights is considered one of Tampa's oldest and most stable residential areas, and is home to more than 21,000 residents.  The area has again attracted young professionals, families and artists who are active in the community.  The neighborhood organizations of Old Seminole Heights, South Seminole Heights and Southeast Seminole Heights are sponsoring the evening event."

The City of Tampa elections are on March 1st.  Two Seminole Heights residents are among the candidates for City Council seats (Kelly Benjamin is running for District 6 and Dr. Susan Long, a long time neigborhood activist is running for the at-large seat in District 2).  WMNF, our local community radio station, is located in Seminole Heights.

Rick, I found this really interesting.  It appears that the homes in Seminole Heights are much like homes in The Heights in Houston, sometimes referred to as the Houston Heights.  And some of the other things you mention are similar also.
