Real estate in the caveman days was sold with smoke signals that worked better on calm days.

And language, copy writing caveman copy to get out the gist of your new condo made of "stone-ah" property listing evolved. Along with table manners, shoes and the monogram sweaters, coach handbags collection in the agents, brokers, REALTORS closets.

So now we are in 2011. And photos, real full motion videos and all sorts of media help in the real estate razzle dazzle.

The selling the sizzle not just the steak marketing we all do around this Active Rain blog platform.

So words, basic words way over used by agents, brokers, REALTORS in a hurry to slam bam thank you ma'am fashion. To the point that all the marketing pieces, ads, blog posts and even videos sound, look and are carbon copies.

Like coloring with one black crayon when you have a box of 144 colors to use, but don't.

Gorgeous, Amazing, Pristine, and my personal pet peeve you see used over and over Nice. Nice home in nice neighborhood with nice layout. Hurry and don't miss out on this really nice home. Great another descriptive term like "think out of the box" or "you don't have to be a rocket scientist" blah blah blah just no punch words, expressions. Or like political talking head media state so and so got a "lot of traction" with this statement, maneuver.

Every real estate market has many of the identical set of tired, weary, tuckered out labels for property. But hey, everyone's using them so follow the herd wearing the "R" with same old same old. Many markets have their own unique to that zip code special worn out expressions too. But if you use too many what some term "fifty cent" words that are over the head of your target audience, those are not so easy to swallow. May not be playing it safe and "nice" that is weak, bland but stays down. No hurl or barb on the receiving end reaction. What's your term you don't use but see many in your market over playing? We've come along way since the Caveman Realty days of listing, marketing real estate right?

Funny that the phrase, hurry this won't last, is also overused here,  but if you look at the history it's been on the market for several months.  I have not used this especially in this market... people might check the DOM.  lol

Andrew, thank you for your help with my picture problem.  It's been fixed and I gave you a shout out in my blog.

Have a 'nice' weekend.

Super Yolanda. Other expressions, terms confuse too. Like if you were new to the country, a lot rusty on the English language and shopping for a washer. You would deduce the words "heavy duty" meant washer because it is on all the units, machines. If over used, the term evaporates, becomes skim milk almost a placebo for descriptive strength, appeal, punch.
