See My NAR conference summary - Day 1

Saturday morning at 8:00 am we had the first ActiveRain member get together at the New Orleans convention center.  Due to my red eye flight Thursday night and the two trips out to Bourbon Street Friday night, I think I had slept a total of 5 hours in the past 2 days.  I got to the convention center and began looking near the entrance to the tradeshow for ActiveRain members and immediatly recognized Teri Isner and Sharon Simms sitting at a table with about a dozen other members and soon to be ActiveRain members.  Mary McKnight was also there with her husband John.  And yes guys, since I've already been asked this, Mary is just as beautiful in person as in her profile picture.  Soon a number of other ActiveRain members including Mr. Moo himself (Angus Woodbury) and blogging guru Bill French made appearances at the table.

Despite being sleep deprived myself, as a group we had a great discussion the ActiveRain Real Estate Network.  I got some great feedback on how things are currently going and was able to share a pretty clear vision of where we wanted to take things in the future.  After the discussion I felt even more confident in what we are doing due to the overwealming support by our members.

I had been planning on attending the blogging panel with experts Bill French, Bernice Ross and Richard Nacht, but got caught up in a conversation with Teri Isner and a couple vendors, so I only caught the last ten minutes.  The rest of the day I spent on the tradeshow floor or in meetings with various vendors and partners.  I had a great chance to reconnect with John Helmering and Kristen Veraldi of RealEstateBlogSites and have a very lively debate on blogging with Bill French about business blogging.  If there is one thing that Bill loves to do, it's debate.

That evening Jon Washburn and myself headed out to "crash" Trulia's cocktail party, and then headed out for another night on the town.

It sounds like a great time.  Well, while you were out having fun, we wree here slugging it...oops, I mean blooging it out this weekend

I'm sure caught it on the laptop but we have had some VERY lively debate this past week.  There were some great blogs about price-fixing fees tonight.

I'm sure you learned what "Who Dat?" means down in The Crescent City.

Matt - As you know... we all enjoyed meeting with you. It was one of the highlights from the trip.

I have to disagree though..

Mary is actually better looking in person and has a great temprament. Husband John is a good sport and really knows his stuff too.
