According to a 2006 study conducted by the California Association of Realtors, the Realtors found that Internet homebuyers purchased more expensive homes. They bought homes with a median purchase price of $452,000, while "traditional" buyers' equivalent purchase was $310,000.

In addition, homebuyers using the Web and watching virtual tours were able to purchase a house in half the amount of time than those not going online. They visited only half as many homes as traditional buyers before making their purchase decision. The internet shoppers turned homebuyers were able to narrow their searches to the houses of greatest interest before leaving their own homes.
