Eclipsing 300,000 points on Active Rain means what?
Do Cherise and I remember the details of our 592 posts so far? No, not really. In fact, I highly doubt that we can recall what we had for dinner two nights ago or what we actually did on last Saturday afternoon. It seems like the details of life have become murky against the landscape of busyness. Neither of us have that photographic memory when it comes to remembering the actual events of life and matching them with a particular day on the calendar.
I guess the same can be said for the amount of blogs written to date on Active Rain. But what does seem to stick in my memory bank involves the process of blogging. This includes the motive, SEO positioning and consumer-centric marketing; the format, affordable transport of photographs and creating relative content; the creativity, new ideas and increased knowledge about the real estate paradigm; and the community, the development of agent-friendly relationships.
Because social media marketing is multi-faceted, embryonic and seems somewhat chaotic to my ordered mind, Active Rain has been the consistent instrument from which to catapult our marketing plans about Colorado Springs Real Estate.
Concisely put, it fulfills a vital part of the needs of our business marketing. Nonetheless, Active Rain is not the “end-all-be-all” phenomenon about successful business practices. Yet, I’d hate to leave this marvelous instrument out of our tool bag of communication.
Back to the question at hand, “Eclipsing 300,000 points on Active Rain means what?”
At this juncture, it feels like Cherise and I are entering into the age of sage. This is a term used by John Eldridge when speaking about men who enter that period of life where wisdom begins to prevail. This is characterized by calmness in the midst of storms.
As for Active Rain and the point system, the journey before 300,000 points felt like a very competitive race towards the top, including daily blogging, daily comments, scrounging for more thought-provoking ideas to arouse the Active Rain community, as well as providing appeal to the consumer who follows our blog.
At times, the pace of thinking and writing and doing business and living life has been totally out of control. Addiction seems to be the operative word to accurately describe the sub-300,000 ecosystem.
But now, eclipsing 300,000, there is a sense of calm about what to do next on Active Rain. Our pace is going to change. The foundation has already been laid. Active Rain blogging has supplemented our history of SEO prior-Active Rain membership, and now, Cherise and I believe that we can achieve more with our business as well as our lives with a little less effort on Active Rain.
Oh yes, this will be hard to do at first – to reduce our number of written blogs. We know it’s like breaking a strong addiction. We’ll go through some heavy withdraws. Our brains will want to create the same familiar synaptic pathways for behavioral response – write and write and write more. Nevertheless, we know we’ve journeyed into another season with Active Rain. New behaviors are required to create new habits.
As a result, we’ll probably blog about 20 times per month instead of 35. We’re going to reduce our addictive clicking onto Active Rain six times per day to one time per day. We plan on filling in the gaps with another side-business, as well as executing some new ideas for Selley Group Real Estate, LLC for 2011.
For now, Cherise and I lift our glasses to you in a toast for helping us to run the race beyond 300,000 points. We thank each one of you who have embraced us without prejudice and who have generously loved us with open friendship.
