Special offer

Who do you thank?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Gwynn Teal Carpenter-Broker: Home and Hearth Realty (Austin)

Remember when you were a kid and got so excited if you received something in the mail addressed directly to you?  Who was it from and what did it say?  Seeing my name on the envelope gave me a thrill....well it's still the same today.

We sometimes forget that after the transaction is over, the file put away and check is deposited in the bank, that others helped us with that successful closing.

Get out your BLANK thank you cards and tell those who touched that transaction how important they were to the success!  Don't forget those on the fringes:  closer, underwriter, closer's assistant, receptionist, inspectors, loan officer and anyone else that I might have missed mentioning.

Just that small act will reap you more benefits that you can imagine! So thrill someone today - let them see their name on an envelope without it being a bill!

Gwynn, this is a great suggestion as a follow up to any transaction that has closed.  It's always good to acknowledge the help we receive and it builds relationships.

Mail stamped, hand written addressed is even more of a big deal today as texts, emails and cell calls have taken over the right now, quick and all done communication style of most now.

Gwynn, this is a great idea sending Thank You notes to everyone connected with the transaction. Thanks.

Home is where the hearth is.

a hand-written note carries much more weight than it used to, since they have become much rarer these days.  pull out that stationery and write that note.  Good advice, Brian Buffini would be proud.

Gynn, you are splasing in the Rain!!!  Excellent post! Excellent idea!

You know President Bush 41 has made this a lifetime habit.  I read and enjoyed ALL THE BEST, GEORGE BUSH: My Life in Letters and Other Writings.

This has not always been my strength.  While I am quick to personally say "Thank You!", I've not been as good to stop and send a thank you note.  With the advent of e-mail, I have been much better to e-mail an expression of thanks.  HOWEVER, YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING I WANT TO DO, AND SHOULD.  Thank you for resurrecting that desire.

Attention ACTIVE RAIN, here comes Gynn Carpenter--get to know her!

Respectfully,

Fred Cope, Reliant Realty in Nashville, TN

Thanks to all for reaffirming that there are others who know what "snail mail" is besides me.

Add one thank you note a week to your "bucket list for 2011" and you will reap the benefits quickly - the feeling you have inside yourself is awesome!

My blog post will be random thoughts that shout to be let out....with Gwynn you'll never know what you'll read.  Stay tuned.
